20 Destination Wineries in the Okanagan Valley
Art, architecture, great views, a bistro with a view, and award-winning wines; it’s not hard to place this winery among the best in the Okanagan.
Red Rooster first hit our radar when it purchased ‘Frank the Baggage Handler’; a controversial but whimsical male nude statue that had been vandalized while on public display in Penticton.
The winery continues to be dedicated to great wine, great art and fine cuisine. Red Rooster once won seven awards at a single Intervin competition, and it is definitely one of the great value-for-money’ wine selections in Canada. Darin Paterson, chef of Bogners of Penticton, has created a wonderful farm-to-table menu at the Pecking Room Patio Grill, such as the char-grilled lamb with sesame lemon drizzle and quinoa parsley salad or made to order bread from the wood oven stove.
And like Mission Hill in West Kelowna, Red Rooster invests heavily in fine art that is sprinkled liberally around the winery grounds.
