20 Destination Wineries in the Okanagan Valley
This fascinating winery started out as an organic farm, and in fact, it remains primarily a farm that has a winery as one of its offerings. Covert Farm produces a variety of organic produce and meat products, and also hosts a variety of events (like the fun and casual ‘Pig Out’ wine and dine barbecue) throughout the year.
In recent years the farm owners turned their attention to wine, and now produce a variety of award winning vintages. One of our favourites is the Bordeaux-styled blend called Amiticia. While at Covert Farms you can take a guided tour with a farmer, exploring the vineyards, fields, and the scenic areas around it in a vintage 1952 Mercury truck. The tour ends with a private wine tasting accompanied by small bites from the kitchen.
Covert Farm is unique in that it is as much farm as winery, all presented in a way that is fun and instructive. It’s so popular, in fact, that the tour of Covert Farms (along with a stay at the Watermark Resort) is named by the Canadian government as a ‘Signature Tour’.
