20 Destination Wineries in the Okanagan Valley
This winery has just pushed itself onto our list of Destination Wineries, with the opening of its new winery building, and the hiring of winemaker Grant Stanley.
The Okanagan is starting to forge a global reputation for its small-lot Pinot Noirs, and Stanley is certainly one of the best specialists in Pinot Noir in North America. While at Quail’s Gate (see below) Stanley developed an amazing, award winning Pinot Noir, and he’s now brought that skill to 50th Parallel on a plot of land hand-picked to produce the Pinot Noir grape.
The winery’s owners also take the visitor experience very seriously, and have invested in a two-year building project to construct a massive, sleek winery that will be the largest north of Kelowna. The winery building opens this summer, and the rest of the project should be complete next summer.
